DESCRIPTION:The 2022 Fiesta Flambeau® Parade will celebrate with “Celebrating Literary Classics” as the parade theme. Leading our parade for its 74th year is our premier band\, The University of Texas Longhorn Band\, followed by spectacular themed floats\, marching units\, local\, out of town and out of state bands\, dance groups\, equestrian units and many other attractions that create a memorable night of illuminated entertainment. \nThe Fiesta Flambeau® Parade is the largest illuminated Night Parade and the highlight of Fiesta®. It attracts over 750\,000 street spectators and 1.5 million television audience. \nThe Fiesta Flambeau® Parade Association\, Inc.’s mission statement is to plan\, organize\, produce\, and stage the Fiesta Flambeau® Parade annually during Fiesta® San Antonio. The Association shall do so to enhance the celebration for the San Antonio community and its visitors. DESCRIPTION:The Battle of Flowers® Parade honors the heroic spirit of the patriots of the Alamo\, commemorates the victories of San Jacinto and Goliad and celebrates the diversity and heritage of Texas and our nation. The 2022 Parade will honor the cultural history to which this event has contributed since its inception 131 years ago with fresh floral tributes and the theme “Viva Las Flores!”\n \nAs the second largest day parade in the United States\, the Battle of Flowers® Parade supports the educational\, artistic\, social and philanthropic achievements of our community’s youth.\n \nThe Battle of Flowers® parade holds the distinction of being the first celebration held in Alamo Plaza and is considered the founding event of Fiesta® San Antonio. The parade has entertained our city every year since 1891\, except during World Wars I and II as well as the Pandemic of 2020 and 2021.
