Background:

MCOs were notified in the Aug. 12 MCO Notice that HHSC requested to delay the Jan. 1, 2020 EVV start date for the programs, services, and service delivery options affected by the 21st Century Cures Act.

Key Details:

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has approved HHSC’s request to delay the EVV start date for the programs, services, and service delivery options listed in the attached HHSC provider notification.

A new EVV start date and additional implementation details for programs approved for the delay will be provided by HHSC.

This topic will be discussed in the Sept. 26 EVV Payer Workgroup.

Action:

MCOs must post the attached notification to the appropriate areas of their website by Sept. 19 and share it with providers through other appropriate methods. The notification includes programs affected by the Cures Act and next steps.
