What does this mean for Members?
On January 1, Members in Bexar County who have both Medicare and STAR+PLUS will move to one fully integrated D-SNP (FIDE) plan. This means your Medicare and Medicaid benefits will be combined under one health plan, helping make your coverage easier to use and understand.
Members can choose from FIDE plans in Bexar County during the Medicare annual open enrollment period, October 15 – December 17.
Members who enroll in a FIDE plan will:
- Get their Medicare and STAR+PLUS Medicaid coverage through the same health plan company.
- Have only one Member ID card.
- Have one place to go for coverage information.
- Have one process for complaints and appeals.
Before choosing a new plan, Members should ask if their current providers will be available in the plan’s network.
