Community First Health Plans proudly supports World Health Worker Week
Join us as we celebrate health workers around our community April 5-11, 2020 for World Health Worker Week! The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and other public health crisis, shed light on these individuals who play a vital role in the community and often put themselves on the frontline to help save and improve lives.
Who is considered a community health worker?
Health care workers are known by many names! You may know them as a service/wellness coordinator, health coach, health advisor or in Spanish communities, promotores de salud. All health workers share the common goal: To advocate for and assist the community in achieving an optimal level of health and wellness.
Community health workers continue to provide essential resources to the communities they serve by bridging the gap between health care, government, social service systems and the communities to which they belong. The information provided to the community ensures individuals have access to health care for all stages of life and social services geared towards successful health outcomes.
At Community First Health Plans, our goal is to help you — whether that be learning how to use your plan benefits, or simply locating one of our network doctors in your neighborhood. We believe that sharing information is a way to ensure members receive the best care possible.
