Community First Health Plans would like to inform Providers about the Medicaid Basics Online Training, available through the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP).
This training provides a high-level overview of Texas Medicaid, including:
- The role of TMHP
- Managed care and state health programs
- Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)
- Medicare coordination
- Provider enrollment and responsibilities
- Prior authorization
- Claims submission and billing
This course is recommended for both new and existing Providers seeking to better understand the Medicaid program and billing processes.

- The training reflects the most up-to-date information as of its publication date.
- Providers are responsible for regularly reviewing the latest Provider manuals, reference materials, and updates on the TMHP website.
- A fully accessible PDF version of the training is available.
- TMHP encourages participants to complete a short survey at the end of the course to provide feedback.
By the end of this training, you will understand the structure of Texas Medicaid, know how to meet Provider requirements, and feel more confident managing Medicaid billing processes.
