The Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) program has added the updated 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccines to the Vaccine Choice page within the Vaccine Allocation and Ordering System (VAOS). Providers should review and update their vaccine choices as needed to ensure continued access for eligible children.
Key Details:
Vaccines are available through TVFC for children 6 months and older. The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine remains the only FDA-approved option for children 6 months through 4 years and is approved for ages 6 months through 11 years. Updated vaccine options for older age groups are also available to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Please Note: The Texas Medicaid pharmacy benefit does not cover COVID-19 vaccines for children.

How to Update Vaccine Choices in VAOS:
- Log in to the VAOS Provider Portal and select “Vaccine Choice” from the top menu bar.
- Choose the ordering facility from the drop-down menu and click “Submit”.
- Return to the homepage and select “Reporting and Ordering” to place your vaccine order.
