Recent changes to the federal Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP Act) mean that certain COVID-19-related services will continue to be covered for Community First Medicaid Members through December 31, 2029.
What This Means for You
COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines are covered for Community First Medicaid Members ages 3 and up at local pharmacies.
- Vaccines must be on the Medicaid-approved drug list and administered by licensed pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, or pharmacist interns.
COVID-19 At-Home Tests and Treatments
- At-Home COVID-19 Tests: At-home COVID-19 tests are covered for Medicaid Members when prescribed by a pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for an at-home test and present your Community First Member ID card. You can also order four free at-home COVID-19 online at COVIDTests.gov.
- COVID-19 Treatments: Medications to treat COVID-19 are covered if prescribed by a pharmacist and listed on the Medicaid-approved drug list. If you test positive for COVID-19, ask your doctor or pharmacist about available treatments covered by Medicaid and present your Community First Member ID card.
