Community First Health Plans would like to remind providers of the THSteps newborn screening requirements and related billing guidance for Medicaid-enrolled infants. Under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT), newborn screenings are a mandated part of preventive care and play a vital role in detecting rare but serious health conditions before symptoms appear. Early detection through these screenings can lead to more effective treatment and improved long-term outcomes for infants.
